Trustee Miller reported on the water committee meetings. They are looking into a radio read meter system for the water department as our system is becoming obsolete: this project would take approximately 5 years to complete. Also they are looking at water/sewer rate increases to help pay for the new system. At this point they are considering a $10 per billing period for the meter, increasing water and sewer to $3.00 per 1000 gallons for each for a total of $6 per 1000 gallons usage, garbage would stay at $20 per billing period. We are way below on rates compared to other communities and need to consider rate increases even if we do not change the current system at this time. He will send out information to the Board members to review before the next meeting and will continue discussion at the July 26th, 2011 meeting.
