Tuesday, June 12, 2012, Regular Board of Trustee meeting



Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town Council room at 8:00 p.m.

Roll call showed the following present: Trustee Runyon, Miller, Wiles, Price, and Birkenbeil. President Haberkorn seated at 8:25 p.m. Trustee Kubiak absent. Also present Treasurer Gerdes-Hibsch, Attorney Weeks and Zoning Commissioner Schroen. 



A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea



Sheriff’s Deputy Sargent Gragert reported there were 54 calls and 12 citations for the month April and 50 calls and 4 citations for the month of May. The Board reported to Deputy Sargent Gragert that we have had complaints on under age people operating Golf carts and having too many passengers on the carts and to please keep watch for this complaint.



A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Runyon to donate $250.00 to P.C. High School FCCLA Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea.


Attorney Report:  received the consent to demolish form for 210 East Cherry.

 208 East Cherry will start the demo sometime after Heritage days. The complaints are ready to file in court for an order to demolish 202 East Spruce and 612 East Locust. The filing cost is $300.00 each case.

The Ordinance violations on 33943 East 800 North Road are ready to file. We will be filing a rule to show cause on 604 North 5th for non-compliance.



A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Runyon to transfer $13500.00 from General account to Law Enforcement fund to cover the cost of the 3rd quarter payment of $14575.89 for the Sheriffs  contract. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea.



A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Runyon to keep the Bauldouff Sign as Town Property and not have silent auction.  Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea.



President Haberkorn asked Zoning Commissioner Schroen to see if he can find someone to fill the vacant seat on the Zoning Board.


Zoning Board will schedule a public hearing for the zoning change at 32484 East 835 North Road for Tim McGreal property.



A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Runyon to change the Zoning Commissioner Salary to a flat $800.00 per year. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea.



Trustee Price Report: The Sidewalk bids are not going well. We have received only one bid so far. The new narrowband pagers are in and we can now reimburse the Fire Department for the pagers for the Town.


Trustee Runyon Report: There is 1 tree we need to take down and 1 that needs trimming. The committee will get with Trustee Kubiak on tree work. The fire hydrants need to be painted.


Trustee Miller Report: The new aerator was scheduled for delivery last week; it has been pushed out to the week of June 18, 2012. Superintendent Maxson has requested we check into getting a trailer for the water tank because the fuel tank and water tank is too much weight on the Chevy Truck.


Treasurer Gerdes-Hibsch Report: Would the Town be interested in new banners for Main Street?

I have had some citizens say they would donate money to help purchase them. The Board asked she have some designs made up and we will look at this again.  



A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Price to pay bills as presented and issue vouchers for same. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea


A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Miller to adjourn.
