Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, May 24, 2011, Regular Board of Trustee meeting



Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town Council room at 7:30 p.m.


Roll called showed the following present: President Haberkorn, Trustee Kubiak, Runyon, Birkenbeil, Price and Wiles.  Trustee Miller seated at 8:05 pm.



A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Wiles to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Board of Trustee vote: 5 Yea



Sergeant Gragert reported there were 42 calls last month.

Sheriff Martin Meredith came to answer citizens concerns about someone getting into vacant houses and buildings. He explained how the arrest process works on certain type of offenses with people that are listed as special needs. Once complaints are signed it goes to the District Attorney and he decides if an arrest warrant is needed.

 When papers are to be served to someone they try eleven times to serve. In the event they can not get papers served they go back to the Attorney. President Haberkorn thanked him for clearing up some citizens questions on this.

Trustee Wiles pointed out that Citizens have the right to call the District Attorney with their concerns on these issues.


Superintendent Ledford – Neighborhood health and safety concerns at 33991 E. 800 N. Rd have been given until June 18th to correct the nuisance violations, if not corrected by then it will be turned over to the Town Attorney.


Trustee Kubiak will work on getting quotes to silicone seal the Town Hall Building, this should be done every five years and the last time it was done was 2005.


President Haberkorn asked the Board to think about changing the Ordinance for Board Meetings to one per month.


Trustee Price said he has been approached about a stop sign at 3rd Street and Spruce - maybe lowering the speed limit in Town from 30 mph to 20 mph. Trustee Wiles will check into what it takes to change speed limit in town may have to work with the Department of Transportation. 



Trustee Kubiak gave the Tree Bids for the 5 Pine Trees on 1st and Hickory. Bids include removal of the 5 trees, grinding the stumps and clean up of all material. Tennant Tree Service Bid $200, Robisky Tree Service Bid $395 and Galloway Tree Service Bid $450.

A motion by Trustee Kubiak and seconded by Trustee Price to except the bid of $200/Tennant Tree Service


Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea



Trustee Wiles said that there has been 5 out of 10 vehicles moved several nuisance letters sent out.

President Haberkorn requested a motion to go into Executive Session at 8:20pm Subject Personnel-Section 2(c) (1) Employee hiring, firing, compensation, discipline and performance.


A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to go into Executive Session on the above subject


Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea


Roll called showed the following present: President Haberkorn, Trustee Price, Kubiak, Runyon, Wiles, Birkenbeil and Miller.


A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Miller to come out of Executive Session at 9:05 pm.


Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea



A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Price to pay bills as presented and issue vouchers for same.

 Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea


A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Kubiak to adjourn.
