Tuesday, May 8, 2012, Regular Board of Trustee meeting
Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town Council room at 8:00 p.m.
Roll call showed the following present: President Haberkorn, Trustee Birkenbeil, Runyon, Price, Miller, Wiles and Kubiak. Also present was Superintendent Ledford and Zoning Commissioner Schroen.
A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Price to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea
Bob & Ruth Andreasen addressed the Board about the work being done on the Post Office. The owner Mr. Dippon is planning on selling the building and wanted to offer it to the Town first. The Board thanked them for the improvements in progress but stated The Town of Chatsworth is not interested in purchasing the building.
Attorney Report: Sent via fax. The owner of 208 East Cherry made an agreement with Ordinance Officer Ledford: The Town will knock the house down for him as long as he hauls off all debris.
Hearing set for May 9, 2012 with owner of 33991 East 800 North Road on the pending case of Ordinance Violations on this property: will set the matter for trial at that time.
Appeared for status hearing on April 25, 2012 with owner of 505 East Walnut, he was fined $250.00 and ordered to pay $500.00 Attorney Fees by September 19, 2012.
Met with owner of 907 East Maple he is waiting on a check from the insurance company for removal of the foundation. Mr. Ledford indicated that if he would have the property cleaned up, as well as the existing barn the pending suit would be dismissed. There is a status hearing set for May 30, 2012.
The sentencing Hearing is scheduled for May 18, 2012 for owner of 604 North 5th.
A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to reimburse the Fire Department for the pagers from Civil Defense Fund once they are delivered. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea
A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Kubiak to renew the MFT CD’S for 12 months Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea.
A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Miller to approve the disconnection from the Town of Chatsworth sections 21, 22, 27, and 28 Ordinance # 415. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea.
The Board agreed to have The Municipal League prepare a quote for the Town Insurance.
A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to purchase a Gateway computer from Best Buy for $580.00
A motion by Trustee Miller and seconded by Trustee Birkenbeil to rescind the motion to purchase a computer from Best Buy. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea
A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Wiles to purchase a new business computer with the programs needed for the office. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea.
A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Price to plant trees on Town Property along South 4th Street and North 6th Street. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea.
A motion by Trustee Runyon and seconded by Trustee Kubiak to donate $1500.00 to Heritage Days Society to help with the Big Tent and port-a-potties. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea
A motion by Trustee Birkenbeil and seconded by Trustee Miller to pay bills as presented and issue vouchers for same. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yea
A motion by Trustee Wiles and seconded by Trustee Miller to adjourn.
